Huntron Tracker HTR1005 B-1 Component Tester
This component tester powers up but seems to drift on the horizontal plane after about 10 minutes of operation so it may need service and need to be aligned or re-calibrated like most test equipment needs every couple of years for precise accuracy (A few components were tested as seen in the picks right after power up).
Basic Operation: …………….This component tracer operates on the same principle as a curve tracer. An AC voltage is applied to the device or circuit under test. The voltage across the device or circuit is displayed horizontally, while the current through it is displayed vertically. Positive current flow is displayed in an upward direction and positive voltage will cause an indication to the right. Every component on the circuit board of the device that you are testing has its own signature (pattern on the scope). If you have a good device or circuit board and you suspect trouble on a duplicate, you can trouble shoot by checking the good against the one in question, each component against each other until the bad component is found by giving off a different pattern than the good component. This is done with No Power applied to the circuit board under test, only the power within the component tester is used.
Included with the tester is the leads, a little information on what the signature patterns should look like, and a Test Pack of a few components (sorry I don’t have the service manual for it).
