One nifty module with a HUGE LBO (Lithium b- Borate) SHG, THG or OPO CRYSTAL. The crystal is roughly 3mm square and 18mm long packed inside a gel-pack with dessicant along with a temperature controlled tuning heater housing.
The most unique thing about it is that it will directly double a 808 diode laser near room temperature, one needs an external cavity or fiber coupled modification of a single mode emitter to do this though. Also, one can shine watts of q-switched YAG 1064nm through it and get WATTS of green output without really trying for simple SHG. Change the angle, add a KTP (see my other lisings!) and put a HR mirror for 532/1064 and get the harmonic 355nm! This was it's original intended use. Want blue green tunable light? Use an alexandrite laser!!! Want to have lost of fun? Use Ti-sapphire laser and combine with a dye laser or yag. Then using a litthrow prism and a broadband OC tune across the whole darn visible spectrum! I Have tested it as a SHG crystal and it works GREAT producing a brilliant pulsed green beam when a SSY-1 q-switched yag is fired through it!
This unit originally cost several TENS of THOUSANDS of dollars new, but may be yours for a small fraction of that price!!! This is a new unused crystal- a laser jock at coherent over-tightened the retaining screw on the heater holder clamp and broke the screw, so the whole assembly was removed before it ever saw real use! The crystal and heater assembly are in perfect condition! This is definitely not a stock item in any major optics catalog!
