New air temperature fan control switch 50-500 degrees
New Mercoid Bi-Metal Temperature Controller 50- 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Mercoid Type M51-74, spec. 23720. Minimum differential is 20 degrees.
This switch will turn a fan on and off, perfect for controlling a fan (up to 10 amps at 120 volts) in any solar collector, hot air application.
New (1989 vintage) in OEM box with installation instructions, bracket and screws. It looks easy to adjust.
AC Capacity 120 volts is 10 amps, 240 volts is 5 amps, 440 volts is 3 amps. DC capacity 120 volts is 10 amps, 240 volts is 5 amps. Horsepower rating is 3/4 AC and 1/3 DC.
Facing the adjustable dial, when the bi-metal coil heats up, the dial turns clockwise and OPENS the mercury switch. With a little effort and a LOT of care, the switch can be reversed so that when the temperature rises, the switch will close (then a dab of silicone RTV to hold it in place.)
15-1/5 inch overall length. Mounting tube (solid tube) diameter is 7/8 inch x 9 inches long. Bi-metal length is 4-3/8 inches. 4-3/4 inch diameter face.
